Lawrenceville First Welcomes New Youth and Families Minister

Lawrenceville First Christian Church formally welcomes the Reverend Diane Bales, Ph.D., to serve as the church’s inaugural Youth and Families Minister. Rev. Diane, a fourth-generation Disciple, brings a wealth of experience from numerous children’s, youth, and family ministry positions held throughout Georgia and Minnesota.

Diane served as a commissioned minister for 17 years, before being formally ordained into the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in April 2019 at Athens First Christian Church, under the leadership of Rev. Justin Floyd. Diane holds a doctorate in child development and is currently employed as a tenured Professor in the Human Development and Family Science Department at the University of Georgia.

LFCC’s Senior Minister, Rev. Richard Williams, believes “Diane is truly an answer to all our prayers. She is crucial for us to fulfilling the potential God has for us in the Lawrenceville community.” We thank God for Diane’s acceptance of this call, and are looking forward to a long-lasting fellowship with her, and her amazing husband, James Gibson. The leadership and membership of Lawrenceville First Christian warmly welcome Diane and James into the family.
