SUNDAY PREVIEW: WHAT A DAY! WHAT NOW?
In Luke’s gospel, the day of the resurrection was jam-packed. The women came to the tomb, found it empty, and announced it to everyone. Later that day, two men were walking to Emmaus when Jesus appeared to them (but they did not recognize him until he broke bread with them). That evening, Jesus appeared among his disciples while they were eating dinner, opened the scriptures to them, commissioned them to share the good news with the whole world, and then ascended into heaven. What a day! We will take a look at Jesus’s last apparance to his disciples in Luke’s gospel. Rev. Diane will preach a sermon entitled “What a Day! What Now?” based on Luke 24: 36b – 48.  See you Sunday, in person or online!

POTLUCK DINNER AFTER WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
This coming Sunday, April 14, the Congregational Care and Connect team has planned a potluck dinner after worship. Please plan to bring your favorite dish(es) and stay after worship for this time of good food and fellowship. Anna Harrison is keeping a list of items people are planning to bring. Please reach out to her if you have not already signed up. We hope to see everyone there!

GIVING TREE FOR CAMP CHRISTIAN
The Outreach team is sponsoring a Giving Tree for Camp Christian on the first two Sundays in April to raise funds for the camp water bottles we provide every year. Each water bottle costs about $2.50; we hope to raise enough money for about 300 bottles (to be used at all camps for campers and counselors). If we receive more donations than needed for the water bottles, we will use the remaining funds to buy other items needed for 2024 summer camp. If you would like to donate to this special effort, envelopes will be available in the gathering space for your Giving Tree donations. You can return the envelope to Marilyn, Rev. Diane, or one of the youth, or put it in the offering plate at the back of the church. As always, please give if you are able, but do not feel obligated if you are not able to support this special project. Thank you for your generous continuing support of Camp Christian.

LET’S EAT! AT LOS HERMANOS
Let’s Eat! will gather on Tuesday, April 16 at 6:30 pm at Los Hermanos, 4955 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville. Join us for food and fellowship. Please let Anna Harrison know if you plan to attend.

BLESSING OF PETS ON APRIL 21
On Sunday afternoon, April 21, we will hold a blessing of pets service in the church parking lot. You are invited to bring your pet to be blessed, if they are comfortable around other people and animals. You are also welcome to bring a photo of your pet for blessing if they are not comfortable coming to the church (or you’re not sure how they will react). We would love to bless dogs, cats, turtles, snakes, hedgehogs, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, snails, fish, and any other pet who is part of your family. We will have snacks for people, dogs, and cats. Feel free to invite friends for this fun event.

As part of the Blessing of Pets, the Outreach Team is collecting old blankets/towels, dog and cat treats, and dog and cat toys to donate to the animal shelter. You can drop your items in the collection boxes in the gathering space any time between now and April 21.

If you have a green thumb, or are just willing to learn, please reach out to Jeanie or to Rod Baker or Beth Thompson to let them know you would ilke to help out.

CHURCH CAMP REGISTRATION IS OPEN
It’s time to register for Camp Christian this summer. The Georgia region has camps for children completing grades K – 12. LFCC will pay half of camp fees for children and youth who are active in our congregation. Counselor applications are also available. You can find more information about camp dates and rates, along with links to camper and counselor applications, on the Summer Camp 2024 website. Please reach out to Marilyn Parks or Rev. Diane if you need more information. See you at camp!

CAMP WORKDAYS
There may be additional camp workdays in upcoming weeks. We will share more information as we have it.

CONTINUED WEEKLY PRAYER FOR OUR CHURCH
As we continue our interim co-pastorate, we need all of our prayers to guide our church forward. You are encouraged to pause for a few minutes to pray for God’s guidance as we continue the work of discerning God’s path for our church and following God’s path on our collective journey of faith. For the next few months, we are designating Mondays at 6 pm as a weekly prayer time. You can pray wherever you are, in whatever way feels most comfortable for you. If you are not able to pause and pray Mondays at 6 pm, please set aside a different time to pray for LFCC.
