SUNDAY PREVIEW: FATHER’S DAY
This Sunday, we will celebrate Father’s Day by honoring fathers, father figures, and other men who have played important roles in our lives. Our guest preacher this Sunday is Rev. Kyle Ermoian, Director of New Church and Church Development for the Christian Church in Georgia. Kyle and his wife live in Ellijay, and are members of Cherry Log Christian Church. Kyle came to Georgia in 2018 following 21 years of service as the founding and senior pastor of Celebration Community Church, Hays, KS, a church which grew from 14 to 1,200 members. He also taught in the Leadership Studies Department at Fort Hays State University. He currently serves as a consultant and coach to pastors for The Effective Church Group, which published his latest book, Church Turnaround A to Z. You may have met Kyle when he visited in February; please join me in welcoming him back to share a thought-provoking message titled, “We’re Better Together!” You may want to read Acts 2: 41-47 in preparation. See you Sunday, in person or online.

JUNE FOCUS ON SUMMER FOOD FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES
During June, our outreach focus at LFCC will be on providing food for the Lawrenceville Co-op to distribute to children and families. The need for food is greater in the summer, because children who receive breakfast and lunch at school during the year can no longer count on regular meals during the summer. The co-op feeds more than 300 families each week, and relies heavily on donations of food and personal items from churches, individuals, schools, grocery stores, scout troops, and many other organizations.
The primary way the co-op supports getting food to kids in the summertime is via Village of Hope (VoH), a non-profit that works with the counselors in the local schools to identify kids in need. VoH provides weekend bags to the kids throughout the school year. In the summer, they shift to delivering lunch bags weekly to 12 neighborhoods, VofH were planning for 350 lunch bags each week during this summer, but have discovered they will need 450. They rely o on an existing network of volunteers and churches to assemble bags. The best way for LFCC to support their efforts this summer is by donating the four most needed items: peanut butter, jelly, canned chicken, and tuna. Thanks for your generous donations to help VoH feed 450 children regulary this summer!
“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink” ~ Matthew 25: 35

WEEKLY CALL TO PRAYER FOR OUR CHURCH
During this time of transition for LFCC, the Pulpit Committee invites all of us to a time of intentional prayer for our congregation. Each Wednesday at 7 pm, you are encouraged to pause for a few minutes to pray for God’s guidance as we continue the work of discerning God’s path for our church. You can pray wherever you are, in whatever way feels most comfortable for you. If you are not able to pause and pray Wednesdays at 7 pm, please choose a different time to set aside for intentional prayer for LFCC. We need all of our prayers to guide our church forward.
