SERMON PREVIEW: A HUMBLE PARADE
This Sunday is Palm Sunday, the day when we celebrate Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem at the start of the week that would end in his death on the cross. It’s a story told in all four gospels, with some variations. The story in Mark’s gospel is more low-key and unassuming than we are used to – just a simple celebration, followed by a quick visit to the Temple and a night of rest. Rev. Diane will explore this verson of the Palm Sunday story in a sermon entitled, “A Humble Parade,” based on  Mark 11: 1-11See you Sunday, in person or online!

MAUNDY THURSDAY SERVICE ON MARCH 28
On Thursday evening, March 28, we will remember the Last Supper and the events of Good Friday in a service of handwashing, communion, and tenebrae. Plan to join us for this special service in the sanctuary at 7 pm.

EASTER PANCAKE BREAKFAST
Plan to join us for the Easter pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 31. Pancakes will be served from 9 to 10:30 am. Stop by after the sunrise service and before our regular morning worship service.

We are looking for a few good men* to help prepare, cook and serve breakfast on Easter morning. We need 5-6 people to be there about 8:00 – 8:15 am, depending on when the sunrise service ends. We will be warming bacon, sausage and cooking pancakes. We need more help starting at 9:00 am to serve guests (i.e. getting drinks and helping with any requests). Please let Rod Baker know if you can help out. We also need a few extra griddles.

*Women are also included, of course, but fixing and serving the breakfast is a project of the Disciples Men.

CO-MINISTER OFFICE HOURS ON MAR. 28

Rev. Diane and Rev. Teresa will hold church office hours on Thursday, March 28 from about noon to 4 pm. If you’d like to come by and meet with us during that time, please let us know. We are also happy to meet with you at another time; just reach out by phone or email!
ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDY: HOW WE GOT THE BIBLE
The adult Sunday school class will wrap up their study of How We Got the Bible by Timothy Paul Jones this Sunday. All are welcome to join in the discussion.

BREAKFAST FOR CENTRAL GWINNETT STAFF
Thanks to all those who helped the Outreach Team buy and serve breakfast to staff at Central Gwinnett High School during their digital learning day last Friday. The biscuits, donuts, and fruit were greatly appreciated. Thanks especially to Beth Thompson and Rod Baker, who coordinated the breakfast. Please continue to pray for the staff and students of Central Gwinnett, and all of the other Gwinnett County schools.

LET’S EAT: DINER AT WEBB GIN
A good group of LFCC family and friends gathered at the Diner at Webb Gin yesterday for Let’s Eat! Everyone enjoyed the delicious food and enjoyable fellowship. Mark your calendar now and plan to join us for the next Let’s Eat! on Tuesday, April 16.

CONTINUED WEEKLY PRAYER FOR OUR CHURCH
As we continue our interim co-pastorate, we need all of our prayers to guide our church forward. You are encouraged to pause for a few minutes to pray for God’s guidance as we continue the work of discerning God’s path for our church and following God’s path on our collective journey of faith. For the next few months, we are designating Mondays at 6 pm as a weekly prayer time. You can pray wherever you are, in whatever way feels most comfortable for you. If you are not able to pause and pray Mondays at 6 pm, please set aside a different time to pray for LFCC.
