SUNDAY PREVIEW
Scripture: Luke 10: 1 – 9
Message: Reflections on Mission Trips
This Sunday, we have the special opportunity to hear from Hugh Yoon and Paul Yoon, both of whom went on recent mission trips. They will share about their experiences and the places they saw God. We may even get to see some photos! After their presentations, we will honor Hugh, who is graduating from Georgia Tech, and we will pray for others connected to our community who are graduating this spring. See you Sunday morning, in person or online.

COMING SOON: HONEST CONVERSATIONS
Next month at LFCC, we will begin a process we are calling “Honest Conversations”, where we have the opportunity to discuss how to respond to challenging issues in our world, through the lens of followers of Christ. We will begin with a sermon framing the issue, followed by 3 weeks of discussion during the Sunday school hour, followed by another sermon to wrap up the discuss and lead into future action. Our opening sermon will take place during worship on Sunday, May 17. Discussion will begin the following week. You are encouraged to participate, even if you don’t usually attend Sunday school.
We will begin by addressing the question, “How should we ensure that people have the food they need?” One of our resources will be an issue brief from the National Issues Forum Institute called “Land of Plenty.” If you would like to take a look at it in advance, you can find it at https://nifi.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/02/NIF-Land-of-Plenty.pdf.
This will be learning process for all of us together. We know we won’t always agree on everything, and that’s ok. Our goal in this process is to learn how to work through challenging issues with respectful dialogue, to really listen to each other, and to find core values we share as Christians. You will be hearing more about this process in the weeks to come; it’s one way we will be practicing resurrection as followers of the risen Christ.

NOTE FROM REV. DR. ADAM HARMON
Some moments simply exceed the reach of words.
Looking at this image, I am reminded that ministry is not a solo act. It is carried in community, in the hands extended, the prayers offered, the presence of those who showed up to say, “You are not alone in this.”
To every clergy colleague, ministry partner, and friend who gathered for Regional Assembly and stayed to lay hands and pray, thank you. What I felt in that circle was not ceremony. It was covenant.
I carry this moment with me as I step more fully into this calling alongside the Christian Church in Georgia. I look forward to learning from you, growing with you, and discovering together what God is already doing in the many beautiful expressions of faith that make up this regional family.
The work ahead is good work. And I am grateful to do it alongside you. Thank you to Paul Wendl for capturing what I will never forget.
~Rev. Dr. Adam Harmon
