SERMON PREVIEW: COVENANT
Sermon Theme: Trust in God to keep God’s Promises
Scripture: Genesis 15:1-18

God always keeps God’s promises – and always in God’s time. But sometimes it’s hard to trust in God’s promises when it seems like nothing is happening. As far back as the Old Testament, God made covenants with people like Abram and David. What do those covenants have to do with our life today, and how can we follow their example in trusting God? We will explore these questions as we mark the second Sunday in Lent. See you Sunday, in person or online.

CONSIDER YOUR GIFT FOR THE 2025 CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
This past Sunday, we kicked off our 2025 capital campaign during worship. This campaign will help ensure that we can make necessary improvements and repairs that come with having a 25+ year old building. This campaign will focus on funding special facilities and grounds projects over the next three years. This Capital Campaign is also an important time in the spiritual life of our church, when all of our prayers are needed.

Proposed Capital Campaign Projects
We have set a goal of $80,000 for this 3-year campaign. Items to be considered.
  • Fixing drainage issues in the parking lot
  • Repairing, sealing, and striping the parking lot, including a pad for the trash container
  • Replacing the storage shed
  • Replacing the blinds throughout the education building
  • Landscape/Prayer Garden upkeep
  • Furniture for gathering area
As we begin to dream new dreams, we humbly request that during this time you lift up our church and the success of this campaign when you pray.

Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
~Ephesians 3: 20-21

SUCCESSFUL MORTGAGE BURNING
This past Sunday, March 9, we celebrated paying off our building mortgage with a special mortgage burning during morning worship. Former ministers of the church shared their thoughts, we sang the first hymn sung in the Sugarloaf Parkway 27+ years ago, and we all cheered as we watched the paper burn. Afterward, we celebrated with a delicious covered dish dinner. Thanks to all the worship participants, and especially to members of the Congregational Care and Connect team who set up and cleaned up the meal.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR TEACHER BREAKFAST THIS FRIDAY
On Friday, March 14, LFCC will serve breakfast to the staff of Central Gwinnett High School. If you are an early riser and want to help set up, serve, and clean up on March 14, please let Rod Baker or Beth Thompson know. Thanks for your help as we show some appreciation for our hard-working teachers and high school staff.
CALENDAR OF CHURCH EVENTS AND GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
