SERMON PREVIEW: STAINED GLASS WINDOWS AND CAPITAL CAMPAIGN CELEBRATION

This Sunday is a fifth Sunday, when we do worship a little differently than usual. Our focus this week will be on the stained glass windows in our church. During Sunday school, the Rev. Dr. Hoyt Huff will guide us through the history of some of the windows and the people who donated them to the church. During worship, we will focus on the meanings of the windows and the scriptures connected to them. Join us for this meaningful time of learning and worship.

After worship, we will celebrate the conclusion of our Capital Campaign. Plan to stay after worship for cake and punch, sponsored by the Congregational Care and Connect Team.
See you Sunday, in person or online.

CONSIDER YOUR GIFT FOR THE 2025 CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Our 2025 capital campaign will wrap up this coming Sunday. This campaign will focus on funding special facilities and grounds projects over the next three years, which will help ensure that we can make necessary improvements and repairs that come with having a 25+ year old building. This Capital Campaign is also an important time in the spiritual life of our church, when all of our prayers are needed.

Proposed Capital Campaign Projects
We have set a goal of $80,000 for this 3-year campaign. Items to be considered.
  • Fixing drainage issues in the parking lot
  • Repairing, sealing, and striping the parking lot, including a pad for the trash container
  • Replacing the storage shed
  • Replacing the blinds throughout the education building
  • Landscape/Prayer Garden upkeep
  • Furniture for gathering area
As we dream new dreams, we humbly request that during this time you lift up our church and the success of this campaign when you pray.

Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to accomplish abundantly far more than all we can ask or imagine, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
~Ephesians 3: 20-21

DISCIPLES WOMEN UPDATES
The next Disciples Women meeting will be on Tuesday, April 8, at 1:00 p.m. in the church conference room. Elizabeth McElhanon will lead the lesson. All women are welcome!

We are invited to the Women’s Luncheon at New Hope Christian Church on Saturday, May 17 from 11:00-1:00. New Hope Christian Church is at 1982 Old Norcross Road in Lawrenceville. There is no charge for this event. You are invited to fellowship with other women in the region. Please let Karen Jensen or Marilyn Parks know if you plan to attend.

MEALS FOR THE BENSCH FAMILY
The Congregational Care and Connect team is requesting meals 3 times per week for the first 2 weeks after Rev. Teresa’s surgery this Friday. We have volunteers for the first two meals. If you would like to volunteer for a future meal, there will be a sign-up sheet in the gathering space on Sunday. Thank you for supporting the Bensch family during this time of healing.

GIVING TREE FOR CAMP CHRISTIAN
On Sunday, April 6 and Sunday, April 13, the Outreach Team will be sponsoring a giving tree to support Camp Christian, to raise money to purchase water bottles for campers and staff and to purchase new grills for camp. Marilyn Parks will have envelopes for camp giving tree donations. You can put your donation in the envelope and return it to her, or place it in the offering plate. Thank you for your loyal support of Camp Christian.

MARK YOUR CALENDAR: BLESSING OF PETS ON APR. 27
On Sunday afternoon, April 27 at 2 pm, we will gather in the church parking lot for our annual Blessing of Pets service. You are invited to bring your pets (if they travel and interact with others well) or photos of your pets to be blessed. (The Bales-Gibson cats will definitely NOT be there in person!)

As we prepare for the pet blessing, we will be collecting (old) towels, pet toys, and pet treats to be donated to the local animal shelter. Collection boxes will be in the gathering space for your donations starting this week. If you have questions about donations, talk to Andrew Jensen. Thanks for your support!
CALENDAR OF CHURCH EVENTS AND GIVING OPPORTUNITIES
We have created a calendar of church events and giving opportunities for 2025. Copies will be available in the gathering space on Sunday. If you would like an electronic copy, please sign up on the sheet in the gathering space, or email Rev. Diane (diane@lawrencevillechristianchurch.org).
